Origins
Burt’s Bees was founded by Burt Shavitz and Roxanne Quimby in the early 1980s. Leaving behind their previous careers in photojournalism and the visual arts, respectively, the duo found freedom in the remote, pristine wilderness of Maine. Burt became the local “bee man” after finding a stray beehive and started selling the honey. Burt taught Roxanne about his bees, and she found a book of recipes which they used to turn their waxy bounty into things like candles (in 1984) and lip balm in 1991—and thus, Burt’s Bees was born.
Natural ingredients
Every product at Burt’s Bees is consciously crafted with ingredients from nature. The nutrient-rich ingredients enable a stronger, healthier skin barrier, with each product containing over 95% natural origin. Everything is free from phthalates, parabens, petrolatum, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). Animal testing is also absolutely not allowed.

The Honey Lip Balm is a cult favourite, loved by nature and perfectly sweet. This natural balm is a nourishing solution, made from golden Honey and Vitamin E, leaving lips soft and supple.
Beeswax Lip Balm (HKD$45.9)
The original Beeswax Lip Balm is also considered the best. A long-time handbag companion, this must-have was crafted in Maine in 1991. Beeswax helps to condition skin and antioxidant Vitamin E moisturises it. The formula also contains peppermint oil for a refreshing tingle.
