SINGAPORE

A mother and daughter have brought their two jewellery brands together under one roof at Raffles Hotel. MUS Zenith Affair (MUS.za), the homegrown fine and bespoke jewellery label founded by Esther Ho, unveiled its refurbished boutique at Raffles Hotel Arcade on 10 October 2026, and it now shares the space with Carat 55, the contemporary fine jewellery brand founded by her daughter, Zoie Teo.

The revamped boutique covers more than 1,300 square feet and displays over 1,000 ready-made pieces from both brands. Rather than a traditional showroom, the pair have designed it as a place to linger: somewhere to sit, chat, learn about gemstones, design something personal and try pieces on.

Three Ways to Experience Jewellery

Visitors enter through Carat 55, the more youthful and relaxed of the two spaces. Here, the focus is on modern Si Dian Jin, the traditional set of four gold wedding pieces, alongside bridal, bespoke and milestone jewellery. Its centrepiece is a communal table where guests can explore ideas with designers, and the brand runs weekly hands-on workshops covering everything from choosing gemstones and settings to proportion and colour.

Further in is the MUS.za Fine Jewellery boutique, a quieter, more classic setting built around gemstones and craftsmanship. It holds a curated selection of more than 500 finished pieces, and clients can also commission bespoke designs, starting with the choice of stone.

For serious collectors, there is MUS.za High Jewellery, a private salon showcasing rare gems. Its vault includes pigeon's blood rubies, Colombian Muzo emeralds, collectible-sized Paraíba tourmalines, and fancy pink and rare red diamonds.

Two Generations, One Vision

Ho has a long track record in the industry. She founded jewellery consultancy and events company Zenith Affair in 2005, before opening MUS.za at Raffles Hotel in 2019. Teo started Carat 55 in 2017, inspired by her own search for modern Si Dian Jin ahead of her wedding.

Shopping with a Purpose

The opening also ties into MUS.za's long-running charity drive. Until November 2026, part of the proceeds from every purchase at MUS.za and Carat 55 goes to SHINE Children and Youth Services, supporting its work on youth mental health.
