Selman Marrakech: A Hidden Oasis on the Cusp of Morocco’s Metropolis

MARRAKECH

Situated at the base of the Atlas Mountains is the five-star hotel Selman Marrakech. Located 10 minutes from Marrakech Menara Airport, it is the ultimate escape from the hum of the inner city. Enveloped in the aroma of their own carefully curated essential oils, which burn throughout the hotel, guests are invited to explore the grounds and immerse themselves in the services that the complex has to offer; serenity is paramount at Selman.

Selman Marrakech’s exquisite interior is nothing if not chic and extravagant. French architect Jacques Garcia is the artist behind this opulence as he merges local architecture with ‘the Daughter of the Desert’ that is Marrakech. Taking inspiration from influences of traditional architecture, the sweeping ceilings and array of arches pay homage to Morocco’s carefully crafted and often intricate interior design. The attention to detail perfectly mirrors the five-star service of their staff, providing a royal experience all-round.

Sunday brunch

Selman's famous brunch encourages guests to feast upon a Moroccan and international buffet at one of the most iconic afternoons in the Ochre City. Situated amongst the rose garden, guests can enjoy the tranquil shade of the pavilion as they sip champagne and enjoy the spectacle that Selman's Sunday brunch has to offer. Le Pavillon caters to guests with a wide selection of dishes including salads, sushi and lobster, as well as preparation of the classic Moroccan tajine.

For 1580 MAD per person, which includes a glass of champagne, Selman takes dinner and a show to the next level as guests can enjoy the Selman Arabian thoroughbreds dance under the idyllic Moroccan sun. Famous for its horses, guests are provided with the opportunity to visit the award-winning animals at the Selman stud farm which is situated right on the grounds. Voted the best breeding of Arabian thoroughbreds in the Kingdom of Morocco in 2014, these majestic animals are a key feature of the hotel's esteemed reputation. Better still, following an afternoon of brunching, bookings admit access to the 80m outdoor swimming pool, with sun loungers spanning either side.

Chenot Spa

Five-star service is present and plentiful in the Chenot Spa with an innovative approach to bodily flow and an aim to regain equilibrium. Guests are provided with exclusive access to one of only six locations providing a Chenot Spa at their property, which follows the Chenot approach to personal needs through holistic treatments.

Featured practices include Hydro-Biontology, Bio Energetic Facials and Aesthetic Biontology, and the Chenot Spa provides courses ranging from 3-10 days that curate personalised programmes to cleanse the body from the inside out. Pairing this with specialised bio-light cuisine, guests are encouraged to reach their wellness goals by following a strict yet rejuvenating regime.

Selman Villa

Adorned with Arab-Moorish architecture, the Selman Villa immerses guests in the serenity and opulence that Selman Marrakech establishes consistently throughout the compound. A private garden and 15-metre-long swimming pool create an unforgettable experience in the intimacy of your own space. The 700 m² villa is directly accessible by car via a private entrance, as guests are welcomed with VIP service and butler assistance. Alternatively, stay at one of the four 580m² villas on the property, with draped walls and a private garden, as well as a 15-metre-long swimming pool.
