This October, as the harvest moon rises full and luminous over the coast of Phu Quoc, JW Marriott Phu Quoc extends a unique invitation to travellers: to gather under its silvery light for A Festival of Enlightenment: Exploring the Moon’s Lore Through Diverse Cultural Lenses. From 1-12 October, the resort will weave together Asia’s most cherished autumn celebrations—the Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival, Korea’s Chuseok, and China’s Golden Week—into a twelve-day tapestry of culinary brilliance, cultural immersion, and holistic wellness.

The festival transforms the resort’s storybook campus, the fantastical Lamarck University designed by architect Bill Bensley, into a vibrant cultural playground. Guests are encouraged to embrace the spirit of exchange students, wandering between immersive “departments” dedicated to the season’s rituals.

The journey begins on a delectable note. At Tempus Fugit, moonlit Vietnamese feasts showcase the rich flavors of the harvest. The culinary adventure continues with themed buffets like The Silk Road Journey, a gastronomic expedition reflecting the ancient trade routes that once carried spices, tea, and stories across continents. For a more casual vibe, Red Rum by the sea captures the festive spirit of Oktoberfest with an island twist, offering frothy steins, sizzling barbecued skewers, and a convivial family-style beach cookout. Meanwhile, French & Co. provides a lighter touch with exquisite, ornate mooncakes and Korean-inspired bingsu.

The festival reaches its crescendo at the iconic Pink Pearl by Olivier E., with an experience selected as a global highlight of Marriott Bonvoy Moments. For a limited number of fortunate bidders on the Marriott Bonvoy platform, Chef Olivier Elzer—whose restaurants collectively hold more than thirty Michelin stars—will present an unparalleled wine-pairing dinner alongside Resort Sommelier Gin. Set within the mansion’s gilded halls to the strains of live classical music, each course is matched with rare vintages, making this exclusive evening not only the pinnacle of the festival but also one of the most sought-after cultural dining experiences in Asia this season.

Beyond the plate, the festival offers a holistic wellness journey inspired by the tranquil balance of the full moon. Mornings begin with serene yoga sessions on the beach, while the Chanterelle Spa by JW offers bespoke lunar-inspired treatments that blend traditional Vietnamese healing techniques with the calming properties of local herbs. Unique workshops, including an artful tea ceremony, provide deep dives into ancient rituals of mindfulness and meditation.

Families will find moments of wonder woven throughout the campus: children crafting vibrant lanterns for a magical parade, bonfires where age-old tales of the moon are retold, and open-air markets alive with music and the enticing scent of grilled delicacies.

This October, let the full moon be your guide to an enlightened escape with the whole family.
