A Rejuvenating Stay at TIA Wellness Resort Da Nang –Hotel Review

DA NANG

The name TIA translates to "a ray of light" in Vietnamese, and from the moment I arrived, that sentiment held true. Located along the beachfront near Da Nang city, TIA Wellness Resort (TIA) feels like a peaceful haven away from the city's buzz. The 87 villas sit amid tropical gardens, and the view of the Son Tra Peninsula — with the giant Lady Buddha keeping watch — sets an almost meditative tone from day one.

I arrived at TIA around 1:00 pm — an hour before the official 2:00 pm check-in. I was ravenous, so I dropped my bags and headed straight to the hotel’s onsite restaurant, The Ocean Bistro, for a late lunch. The sunny beachfront views and a fresh cold coconut were exactly what I needed to reset my mood. After lunch, I was ready to check in to my villa.

The Villa

The one-bedroom pool villa was spacious, serene, and thoughtfully designed. Neutral tones, natural materials, and floor-to-ceiling windows created a seamless indoor-outdoor flow that I couldn’t get enough of.

The highlight? The private pool. Tucked in a walled garden with two daybeds, it became my personal refuge — the perfect spot for an early morning dip after breakfast or a quiet float under the stars before a shower and bedtime.

The bedroom itself was minimalist but warm — a king-sized bed with crisp linens, blackout curtains for deep sleep, and a seating area that overlooked the pool. Little touches like sustainable amenities, a well-stocked minibar, and a pillow menu made it feel both luxurious and personal. There's nothing quite like waking up, sliding open the glass doors, and stepping straight into your own private garden with a pool.

The Food: Wellness Without Deprivation

TIA's approach to food is refreshingly balanced. While the wellness packages encourage plant-based meals, nothing is restrictive.

We woke up hungry, and breakfast at TIA was the moment we'd been waiting for. The spread was dangerously generous – a buffet that ran the gamut from fresh tropical fruit and house-made bliss balls to a dedicated plant-based station and steaming pho, alongside an à la carte menu offering everything from avocado with scrambled tofu to a full English. Naturally, we sampled both. We settled in with Vietnamese coffee, lost track of time, and let the morning stretch lazily into hours.  It was utter bliss.

I never felt hungry or deprived. Just nourished. And if you're craving something indulgent? The resort's flexibility means you can have it — just in moderation. That balance is what made the dining experience feel sustainable rather than restrictive.

The Spa: 80 Minutes of Daily Bliss

Having a spa treatment every day is, unsurprisingly, easy to get used to. And now I’m back at my desk hunched over a computer, you look back on those days wistfully.

With 22 treatment rooms and 55 therapists on staff, the spa is the beating heart of TIA. The wellness-inclusive package entitles you to two treatments per night (totalling 80 minutes), and I made sure to use every single one. Treatments are available from 12:00 on check-in day and must be completed by 14:00 on departure day — so I planned my sessions strategically to maximise the experience.

I tried several treatments during my stay, but the standout was the Deep Connection Remedy (80') — an uplifting aromatherapy full-body treatment that expertly blends essential oils with long, soothing strokes and targeted pressure points. I opted for the Splash Oil, TIA's signature morning-to-3pm blend of Pink Grapefruit, Lemon, Sweet Orange, Geranium, Cardamom, and Clary Sage. It was invigorating and awakening — exactly what I needed to start my day feeling energised and creative. The treatment delivered exactly what it promised: muscle recovery, tension release, and deep relaxation.

Beyond the treatments, the spa facilities include its own pool and relaxation lounges where you can linger before or after your session. The ambiance — soft lighting, calming music, the subtle scent of essential oils — made every visit feel like an escape within an escape.

A quick note: The spa is a smoke-, alcohol-, and phone-free area — and it's blissful. You arrive 15 minutes before your treatment in your bathrobe, and disposable underwear is provided in your villa.

The Facilities & Activities: Sweat, Create & Connect

TIA offers a thoughtful mix of movement, mindfulness, and social wellness activities beyond the spa, creating a schedule flexible enough to suit everyone's preferences.

My second day was my most active day. After breakfast, I joined a HIIT Power Workout. The 30-minute session was designed without equipment — short bursts of high-intensity exercise meant to build cardiovascular health, metabolism, and strength. The trainer kept the energy high, and by the end, I was sweaty, breathless, and oddly exhilarated.

After lunch, I switched gears completely with a Tree of Life Creative Workshop. I came in skeptical, but the workshop turned out to be grounding and surprisingly therapeutic.

We were guided to paint our own Tree of Life — using the tree as a metaphor for our personal journey. The roots represented our foundations and where we come from, the trunk symbolised our core values and strengths, the branches reflected our aspirations and goals, and the leaves or fruits signified the things we want to grow and manifest in our lives.

There was no pressure to be "good" at painting. The facilitator encouraged us to let go of perfectionism and express what felt true. I found myself losing track of time, completely absorbed in mixing colours, bringing my tree to life on canvas and making conversation with the other guests. By the end, I had created something that felt deeply personal — a visual representation of my own growth, values, and intentions. It was a powerful reminder that creativity isn't about skill; it's about expression.

The grounds themselves are a highlight — lush tropical gardens, a stunning beachfront, and a large main pool (if you ever tire of your private one). There's a well-equipped fitness centre with daily classes, and quiet nooks perfect for reading or meditation.

Another activity worth mentioning is the Release and Renewal Fire Ceremony — one of TIA's newer social wellness experiences designed to bring guests together for healing and support.

Held every Friday evening, this 30-minute ritual invites guests to pause, reflect, and take part in a symbolic act of release. We thought about what we were ready to let go of — limiting beliefs, stress, fear, or emotional burdens. We wrote them down on paper and placed them into the fire, symbolically letting go. Then came the renewal: each of us set a personal intention — something we wished to welcome, cultivate, or create in our lives — and offered it to the flames, embracing transformation and fresh beginnings.

Sharing this experience with other guests made it surprisingly powerful. There's something about watching your worries turn to ash alongside strangers who are doing the same — a collective exhale.

The Verdict

TIA Wellness Resort is not your typical luxury spa getaway. It's a place that takes wellness seriously — not through rigid restrictions, but through intentional programming: movement, creativity, reflection, social connection, and deep physical care.

Having an 80-minute spa treatment every day wasn't excessive — it became a ritual. It gave me something to look forward to, a time to wind down in the evening, and a chance to truly check in with my body. By day three, I could feel the cumulative effect: less tension, clearer thinking, and a deeper sense of calm.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely — especially if you're a busy professional, a parent running on empty, or anyone who needs a reset. The combination of daily treatments, meaningful activities, a gorgeous private villa, and delicious food creates something rare: a retreat that feels restorative without feeling like a chore. I left feeling energised, clear-headed, and ready — exactly what I came for.
