Jessica Jann (@JessJann): My Top 5 Favourite Hotels in the World

INTERVIEW

As a Hong Kong-based mum and frequent traveller, I’ve been lucky enough to stay at some beautiful hotels around the world. Here are five memorable stays that have stayed with me, from a honeymoon in the Maldives to family getaways in Shenzhen and staycations closer to home.

Joali was such an amazing resort! We went for our honeymoon, and it was my first day in the Maldives. The weather was gorgeous and it honestly was so picturesque! We spent our days lounging, eating, snorkelling, scuba diving, parasailing, swimming and so much more! We absolutely loved it – it was such a relaxing and fun honeymoon trip! I definitely want to go back soon!

We often take weekend trips or go to Shenzhen when we have short public holidays. Shangri-La Shenzhen Nanshan was such a beautiful and modern hotel! We did a family trip over a weekend, and the kids loved playing in the luxuriously huge bathtub and running around the rooms! It’s very new and modern! They were also great with amenities and super helpful with the kids!

The Mulia Bali was such a lovely stay! It was one of my first couple trips with Kenneth when we first started dating. The resort is massive and they have different areas – from villas to suites! They had tons of restaurants and massive swimming pools! We of course loved lounging by the pool!

Mandarin Oriental, Lago Di Como was so nice! We didn’t stay there, but my parents did, and it was so beautiful! We had an afternoon tea there, and they have this amazing infinity pool overlooking everything, and it was absolutely stunning. The rooms were spacious and lovely. Such a beautiful hotel. I do want to stay here myself one day!

The Peninsula Hong Kong is one of the first hotels I went to have a meal at in Hong Kong, and it left such a big imprint in my mind! I loved the colonial style of the hotel and how grand the entrance is! The afternoon tea in the lobby is such a delight and our family has actually done a staycation a few times there! It’s such a nice little getaway in Hong Kong, and we get to explore all the close nearby museums in Tsim Sha Tsui. I also really enjoy watching the light show at night!
