By all appearances, Margie Lombard does not fit the mold of the typical skincare mogul. There’s no celebrity entourage, no TikTok virality, no dramatic before-and-after posts flooding your feed. Yet, over the past three decades, the Monaco-based founder of Margy’s Monte Carlo has quietly built one of the most respected — and discreet — names in luxury skincare. And in Hong Kong, nowhere is that legacy felt more clearly than inside the serene confines of The Peninsula Spa.

This summer marks ten years since Lombard’s brand partnered with The Peninsula Hong Kong, introducing a new kind of facial experience to the city — one that combines European refinement, clinical precision, and the kind of old-school attention to detail that’s increasingly rare in today’s wellness world.

Founded in Monaco by Margie Lombard, Margy’s Monte Carlo has long held a kind of cult status among those in the know. Her formulas, developed in Switzerland, focus not on flashy packaging or viral claims but on slowing inflammation at the cellular level — a quieter, more enduring approach to beauty. And in many ways, this mirrors The Peninsula’s own ethos: a dedication to time-honoured service and modern performance, with no need for spectacle.

The collaboration began in 2014, when the spa sought to enhance its facial offerings with a brand that shared its commitment to technical excellence and holistic wellness. Since then, Margy’s has become a mainstay at the Spa and Wellness Centre, attracting everyone from jet-lagged executives to skincare loyalists who return religiously.

To mark the anniversary, the spa has introduced a new 90-minute treatment: The Peninsula Facial by Margy’s. On paper, it sounds like a typical signature facial — massage, masks, collagen — but in practice, it’s a remarkably calibrated ritual. Margy’s signature rhythmic massage stimulates facial muscles and blood flow, while her product line (rich in peptides, marine collagen, and other biomimetic compounds) targets signs of inflammation at the source.

The result isn’t just a post-facial glow, but a kind of structural shift in how the skin looks and feels — something that those familiar with the treatment say keeps them returning, even in a market crowded with alternatives.

The Peninsula x Margy’s collaboration stands out not just because of the luxury attached to both names, but because it has lasted. In an industry that often prioritises novelty over depth, the ten-year mark signals something different: a belief that progress in skincare isn’t about constant reinvention, but about refinement.
