We speak to the founder, the young and high-spirited Lois Lai, on why The Rose Rituals is a gamechanger in this niche industry.
Could you tell us about yourself and how you started The Rose Rituals?
I've always had a passion for art, jewellery, music, fine wine – basically everything classic. My pillars are connection, growth and discovery!

Your background is in architecture and design. Could you share with us how this influences your work with The Rose Rituals?
I adore the values of history, culture and luxury. Inspired by architects/designers in Hong Kong such as Andre Fu, Nelson Chow, Issey Miyake, The Rose Rituals aspires to bring in a private community that cultivates a luxury lifestyle, wellbeing and personal insight into the modern world.
What can guests expect when joining as a member of The Rose Rituals?
The Rose Rituals enables members to access to an exclusive variety of lifestyle partners, art galleries, auction houses, yacht events and jet-set locations and refined experiences that only members can enjoy. It's not only about wining and dining or visiting private clubs – it's the whole lifestyle that comes with it.
What's the importance of female entrepreneurship in Hong Kong and how has it changed in recent years?
There are still so many women who have the desire to create and lead but we don’t hear about them due to their lack of confidence and fear. Female entrepreneurship means being a leader and a creator, to look straight ahead and just go for it, create and risk. I believe women are key to post-pandemic recovery, with so many losing their jobs, women have stepped up even higher in today’s climate to create longevity in the workplace by creating their businesses, teaching themselves to survive and supporting their families at the most trying time in the world.
Could you tell us about some of your recent collaborations at The Rose Rituals?
The Rose Rituals has successfully launched and co-hosted six fabulous events in just 7 months time, supported by our lifestyle partners, from an extravagant collection from the auction house to a luxury french fragrance brand, to art foundations and art galleries as part of a series of arts programmes to foster cross-cultural dialogue.
What are some events to look forward to with The Rose Rituals?
In the coming 2021 Q4 & 2022 Q1, this season marks a new beginning. We are thrilled to introduce a range of multi-genre programmes and exclusive activities for our Rose Rituals members. We are actively inviting some renowned regional and international fashion brands, art galleries to join our next event and we've partnered with yachts and villas to provide unforgettable experiences that promote innovation and creativity, while exploring new possibilities.
How did you come up with the name for your brand?

What's your favourite part about owning your own brand?
The best part about being an entrepreneur is that it is truly exciting to succeed where no one has succeeded before and you can control your own destiny. Having the opportunity to take an idea and inspire other people around me to contribute to that idea, make it better and put it into action. When it comes down to it, success is sweeter when you are the one to take the risks.
