Gracie Cashman was practically born under the spotlight — but she’s the one steering it. The on-air host of the Emmy-winning The Story of My Number on the YES Network, Gracie carries a legacy rooted in sports and entertainment (her father is the GM of the Yankees, her grandfather helped shape cable television), yet makes every move feel entirely her own. Between filming the holiday romance Christmas Cowboy and starring opposite Brooke Shields and Bridget Moynahan in the upcoming California Skate, she’s quickly proving she’s more than a name to know — she’s a name to watch. When she’s not on set or moderating panels at the North Fork TV Festival, Gracie’s championing women’s health and reproductive rights with EndoFound, using her voice for impact beyond the screen.

Polished yet playful, purpose-driven yet refreshingly down-to-earth, Gracie is the kind of modern talent who can light up a camera and a cause in equal measure — and she’s just getting started.

How did you first get started in your line of work?

I’ve always loved storytelling in all its forms. I started acting at a young age, first in local community theatre, and eventually began to train more seriously. It’s always been my dream, but over time, it became my purpose. I still pinch myself that I get to call it my job.

What’s been your biggest pinch-me moment so far?

Honestly, any time I’m on set feels like one. Just standing camera ready, surrounded by a full crew, lights, and cameras… Those moments never stop feeling surreal.

Who inspires you most right now?

Women who create their own opportunities. Whether that’s actors producing their own work or young artists using their platforms for something meaningful. It takes an incredible kind of quiet courage to put yourself out there with grace and authenticity in today’s world, especially when everything feels so exposed. That bravery and the decision to lead with heart are really inspiring.

What’s a typical morning in your life like?

When I’m filming, mornings are early, structured, and filled with that familiar “hurry up and wait” rhythm. So on my off days, I make a point to move a little slower. I’ll start with a workout, enjoy my coffee, and catch up on a bit of work. It’s a nice way of resetting and finding balance before the day really begins.

What’s your secret guilty pleasure?

Pink Starbursts. My mom used to bribe me with them when I was little, and honestly, it still works. They’ve held their place as a top-tier treat in my life ever since.

Three beauty products always in your bag?

I’m not sure these technically qualify as “beauty products,” but they’re my non-negotiables. There’s always a hair tie or clip floating around, my emotional-support Aquaphor stick (the healing balm) and a brush-on sunscreen for quick touch-ups. They’re less about glam and more about survival, but I swear by them.

Skincare step you’ll never skip?

I'll always remove my makeup. No matter how late it is, it’s the one non-negotiable in my routine. If I ever wake up with makeup still on, everyone would know something went terribly wrong.

Favourite fragrance?

I love fragrances… probably a little too much. I have an entire shelf of bottles and really enjoy picking one that fits the mood or the moment, so my collection is all over the map. I’ve been pretty loyal to Juliette Has a Gun for years, and Morning Chess by Vilhelm always finds its way into my rotation for fall and winter nights. In summer, I love layering Rose Kabuki by Dior with I Don’t Know What — it’s the perfect mix of soft and unexpected.

Red lip or nude gloss?

Nude gloss, always. If there are passed apps or cocktails involved, I’ll somehow end up with red lipstick on my face or teeth within minutes. I’ve accepted that I’m just not responsible enough for a red lip — it’s a level of maintenance I deeply respect from afar.

Dream work collaboration?

Greta Gerwig would be a dream. She tells stories with such honesty and wit, and her worlds always feel both intimate and expansive. I’d also love to work with Cillian Murphy; he seems so grounded in the work and completely unbothered by the outside noise of it all. He strikes me as the kind of actor you could learn endlessly from, just by being around him and watching him do his thing.

Favourite hotel(s) you’ve ever stayed at?

Il Sereno in Lake Como will always be special to me. We’ve returned many times over the years, and my mom was married at one of the villas they manage. The staff there have this rare kind of magic. If you asked them to lasso the moon, I honestly think they’d try. And Ballyfin in Ireland is pure fairytale… grand, timeless, and somehow still deeply comforting. Both places feel like they exist slightly outside of reality.

Most underrated destination you’ve discovered?

Finland. I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. It almost doesn’t feel real. I know it’s having its moment right now as a popular travel spot, but a lot of people were really surprised when I told them I was going. The people are so friendly and genuinely excited to share their culture and history with you, which makes it feel even more special. It’s one of those places that’s so alive and full of creativity, warmth, and this deep connection to nature and their history that’s really contagious.

Where’s next on your bucket list?

I’ve never been to Africa, so truly anywhere on the continent would be amazing to experience. A safari, especially, feels like it would be life-changing. To see those landscapes and animals up close… everyone I’ve talked to who has done it says it’s the best trip they have ever taken.
