The blaze at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, Hong Kong, has devastated lives and homes. As the community bands together in grief and solidarity, there are several trusted, verified charities and organisations currently working to deliver emergency relief — including housing, food, psychological support, and animal rescue.
These organisations are at the forefront of relief efforts and welcome your support.
Key Organisations & How to Help

You can help by donating non‑perishable food (rice, canned goods, cooking oil, long‑life items) — or donating money (even HK$10 helps).
The fire displaced people and pets; SPCA is stepping in to rescue, shelter, and reunite pets with owners.

Government & Public Funds — Support Fund for Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po
The Government announced a seed fund of HK$300 million for immediate relief and rebuilding efforts.
Why Having a Broad Support Network Matters
Not all households are the same: some are families with children, some are seniors, some include pets, others include migrant workers — a variety of vulnerabilities require different forms of support.
Short‑term needs (food, shelter, basic supplies, pets) are urgent now — but long‑term recovery (mental health, rebuilding homes, education, resettlement) will take months to years.
Donations in cash, supplies, or even volunteering your time (especially for mental‑health support, food distribution, animal rescue) remain invaluable.
⚠️ What to Check / Be Careful About
Always verify the charity or fund before donating — check their official website or recent press release. In this moment, Hong Kong residents are seeing many appeals, some of which could be fraudulent or unverified.
If donating physical items, only send what the organisation explicitly requests (e.g. Feeding HK asks for non‑perishable, long‑life items; SPCA focuses on pets/animal welfare; etc.).
For mental‑health and trauma support: many victims (adults, children) have lost homes, loved ones, possibly pets — emotional and psychological assistance may be as critical as material aid. If you are feeling anxious, depressed, or overwhelmed in the wake of the fire, support is available. You can contact the Mental Health Support Hotline at 18 111. Alternatively, Samaritan Befrienders Hong Kong offers an English Emotional Support Hotline at 2389 2223, as well as a 24-hour Emotional Support Hotline at 2389 2222.
