Hong Kong's First Y2K Junk Is Setting Sail This October

On Saturday, 24 October 2026, Midnight Espresso and The Blended Agency are co-hosting Hong Kong's first Y2K-themed junk — a full six hours on the water dedicated to the music, fashion and general chaos of the early 2000s.

A Theme You Can Actually Commit To

The best parties give people something to do. A dress code does that better than almost anything else, and this one is pleasingly specific.

We're talking low-rise jeans, baby tees, cargo trousers, velour tracksuits, metallic everything, double denim, mini skirts, trucker caps and the tiny sunglasses that defined an entire era of red-carpet photography. Guests can lean into Britney's pop princess years, Destiny's Child's matching outfits, Justin Timberlake's early streetwear phase, or Rihanna's first brush with fame.

There will be props scattered around the boat for photos. Some of those photos will be great. Others will resurface at inconvenient moments.

What's Included

The event runs from 11:30am to 5:30pm (registration starts at 11am, boat sets sail at 11:30am), which is a generous stretch of time on the water — long enough to properly settle in, short enough that nobody's stranded by hour seven.

Tickets cover free-flow drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, plus pizza from Amalfitana served across the afternoon. Early bird tickets are HK$690 per person, with regular pricing at HK$790.

The drinks line-up is where things get more interesting than your average boat party. Breer, the Hong Kong food-tech company that brews beer using surplus bread rescued from bakeries, hotels and retailers, is among the participating brands — a nice bit of circular-economy thinking tucked into a party. It joins Only and its vodka-mixer range, Drunkape with its party-ready pours, BubbleMe Seltzer for something lighter, and Heroes Beers rounding out the craft beer side.

Non-drinkers are well covered too, with a full selection of alcohol-free options available throughout.
