What distinguishes The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok from other luxury hotels in the city, particularly since its recent opening?
The Ritz-Carlton is renowned for its global reputation for excellence, ensuring that guests experience unparalleled service and quality. As part of Marriott Bonvoy, one of the world’s leading hotel loyalty programmes, we provide guests access to an extensive network of over 30 luxury brands worldwide. Our prime location in One Bangkok offers a unique blend of urban energy and refined tranquility, with panoramic views of Lumpini Park. We have curated exclusive cultural, wellness, and dining experiences that set us apart from any other hotel in the city.
What has been the biggest challenge in launching this new property, and how has the team overcome it?
One of the primary challenges has been educating the market about the expansive offerings within One Bangkok, which is more than just a hospitality hub – it’s a fully integrated lifestyle district. With unique attractions like the 2.5km Art Loop, The Wireless House museum, and Chang Canvas brewery, we’ve worked closely with our marketing team to highlight these elements, ensuring that guests see The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok as part of a much larger cultural and lifestyle experience.
How does The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok reflect the culture and vibrancy of the city within its design and services?
The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok is designed to immerse guests in the energy of the city while staying true to its rich cultural heritage. From our use of local materials to curated art installations that celebrate Thai artisans, every detail is crafted to ensure a seamless blend of tradition and modern luxury.
Guests can experience this through our bespoke cultural programs, including:
The ‘Elemental Ensemble’ Ceremony, a reinterpretation of Thailand’s Klong Yao (Long Drum) ritual.
Morning Tai Chi on the Terrace, overlooking Lumpini Park.
‘New Generation’ Art Tours, offering an exclusive look at emerging Thai artists.
How do you balance maintaining The Ritz-Carlton’s global reputation for luxury while creating a unique local experience?
We achieve this by combining The Ritz-Carlton’s signature hospitality with bespoke Thai-inspired experiences. From locally sourced ingredients in our restaurants to personalised service that reflects Thai hospitality, our goal is to offer guests a stay that is both luxurious and deeply connected to the destination. We want every guest to leave with a sense of place, not just a memory of a hotel stay.
How does The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok stand out as a dining destination?
The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok is home to some of the most exciting dining venues in the city, led by world-class chefs and mixologists. At Duet by David Toutain, two-Michelin-starred David Toutain collaborates with Chef Valentin Fouache to bring a modern French dining experience that celebrates the duality of food and nature. The restaurant’s glasshouse setting, overlooking the city, adds to its elevated sensory experience.
Meanwhile, Caleō, our signature cocktail bar, takes inspiration from legendary social clubs around the world, offering meticulously crafted drinks that blend classic mixology with local Thai flavours. For a reinterpretation of Thai cuisine, Lily’s offers a menu inspired by traditional lily ponds found in Thai homes, with a focus on reimagining classic dishes with modern techniques and premium ingredients.

Sustainability is a growing focus in luxury hospitality – what steps has the hotel taken to incorporate eco-friendly practices?
Sustainability is a core pillar of both The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok and the One Bangkok development.
All buildings within One Bangkok have been LEED ND Platinum certified, ensuring that we meet the highest standards in energy efficiency, water conservation, and air quality.
Our culinary teams prioritise locally sourced, traceable ingredients, reducing our carbon footprint while supporting local farmers and artisans.
As part of Marriott’s global sustainability initiatives, we align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring that our luxury offering is responsible and future-focused.
What are your plans for positioning The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok as a key player in the city’s luxury hospitality market?
Our vision is to make The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok the benchmark for ultra-luxury hospitality in the city.
By blending Thailand’s rich cultural heritage with The Ritz-Carlton’s commitment to innovation and excellence, we offer guests a transformative experience. We don’t just want to be a place to stay—we want to be a destination in itself.

Finally, could you recommend one of your favourite spots in Bangkok?
One of my favourite districts in Bangkok is Charoenkrung, which is home to some of the city’s most exciting galleries, cafés, and creative spaces. For guests, we offer a personalised art and cultural tour through Charoenkrung, guided by our expert concierge and accompanied by a professional award-winning photographer, ensuring they leave with not just memories, but stunning visual keepsakes.
