What to Know About ACME Wellness in Hong Kong

HONG KONG

Founded in 2023, ACME describes itself as the first hot-and-cold contrast therapy space in its Central neighbourhood, built around the idea that real recovery comes from extremes: heat, cold, and the deliberate rest in between.

What Is ACME Wellness?

ACME's philosophy is rooted in duality — the idea, borrowed from ancient traditions, that opposing forces (heat and cold, stimulation and stillness) are what create balance. In practice, that translates into a spa built specifically around contrast therapy: infrared sauna, ice bath, and combined hot-cold rooms, all designed to work the nervous system rather than simply relax it. The brand's own language leans into three pillars — Renew, Recover, and Restore — treating each visit as both a physical reset and a small ritual.

The Space

ACME's Central studio spans roughly 1,200 square feet across six rooms, each housing a private therapeutic pod rather than an open shared floor — a deliberate choice that keeps the experience feeling more clinical-meets-calm than communal spa day. Guests move through a clear, intuitive layout between "unwinding" and "therapy" zones, with a communal lounge that looks out over the uninterrupted greenery of the Albert Path walking trail. Blinds adjust for natural light or full privacy, depending on whether you want a bright reset or a dim, meditative one.

What's on the Menu?

The core offerings are built around ACME's contrast philosophy:

  • Private Infrared Sauna (1 hour): A full-spectrum, low-EMF infrared sauna designed for deep, radiant heat that penetrates muscle tissue. ACME lists benefits including improved circulation and metabolism, temporary muscle pain relief, better sleep, and clearer skin.

  • Private Contrast Therapy (1 hour): A "sequence-driven" room that moves guests through hot, cold, and rest zones in one continuous cycle, aimed at speeding muscle recovery, reducing inflammation, and lifting mood.

  • Cold Plunge (30 minutes): A private cold-immersion session paired with regulated breathwork, positioned as much for mental clarity and stress relief as for physical recovery.

Beyond the contrast-therapy suite, ACME also offers facial and body treatments — including the facial sculpting and body massage experience detailed below — plus retail products, supplements, and recovery tools through its online shop.

I went in for ACME's Meridian facial sculpting experience. The 90-minute experience opens with a 30-minute private infrared sauna session — enough time to properly loosen up and start sweating out the day before any hands-on work begins. Their infrared sauna is medical grade and comes with two red light panels along with chromotherapy - the ultimate relaxing and beautifying combination, leaving you feeling relaxed but energized on a cellular level. It also resulted in a great sweat & detox, and the red light therapy

From there, it moves into the main event: an upper body massage focused on opening up the lymphatic system all along the back, neck & shoulders, followed by a results-driven facial massage designed to restore definition and release tension held in the jaw, temples, and neck. The combination is the point — by the time the facial work is done, the body massage picks up where it left off, draining and de-puffing rather than just relaxing surface-level muscle. The masseuse is from The Meridian Atelier and has over 30 years of experience - her knowledge of the lymphatic pathways and meridians in the upper body & face left my face looking smaller, slimmer & lifted. Not to mention, she used an active collagen serum on my face when doing the sculpting so my skin texture and tone also improved by the time she was done - leaving my face plump, lifted, soft, hydrated & smooth, easing out fine lines and any tiredness in the face.

“Meridian face sculpting and buccal massage work in perfect harmony to release deep-seated facial tension, melt away fluid retention, and sculpt the contours of the face from both the inside and out,” explains Florence Tsai, director of partnerships at ACME Wellness, and founder of The Meridian Atelier. “By unlocking natural energy pathways and lifting the structural muscles of the lower face, this powerful dual therapy revives your natural glow, defines the jawline, and serves as an exceptional, non-invasive alternative to traditional fillers.”
