When The Devil Wears Prada 2 was confirmed, the conversation centred — inevitably — on the return of Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. But among the new names entering its fashion ecosystem is Pauline Chalamet, the talented sister of Timothée Chalamet.

After years of building credibility in television and independent film, Chalamet is stepping into the beloved franchise with confidence – one that she herself is a fan of.

"I blacked out. So I don't remember," she jokingly told People magazine in 2025, referring to the moment she found out she'd been cast for the film's anticipated sequel. "I kind of didn't believe it until I was given dates. I kind of went, 'Oh, you pranked me, that's not really going to happen.' And then I was given the blueprint for the looks."

"It's a perfect movie. And I really mean that, it is a perfect movie. It's so fun," the 34-year-old added.

Here's what to know about her ahead of the film's premiere on May 1.

Pauline Chalamet's Background

Born in New York to a French father and American mother, Pauline Chalamet’s sensibility is shaped by duality — linguistic, cultural, and creative. Unlike her younger brother, Timothée Chalamet, whose ascent was swift and highly public, Pauline’s trajectory has been more measured.

She trained in drama at LaGuardia High School before moving to Paris, where she lived and worked across multiple disciplines — writing, acting, and directing.

“We lived in Times Square, basically, so all those Broadway theatres felt very accessible," she told The Face. "It was normal in the household I grew up in, which I realise maybe wasn’t so‘normal. I thought I wanted to do so many other things, and sometimes I still do.”

How Did Pauline Chalamet Get Into Acting?

Having initially danced at the School of American Ballet, later performing with the New York City Ballet and American Ballet Theatre, Chalamet moved into acting. "When I was 16 or 17 and applying to college, it was a terrible time in my life," she told The Face. "My ballet period was over. I got into this bike accident and broke half my body. I was a drama major at LaGuardia, and I had such a resistance to applying to college, because in my head, I had been sold this narrative since the age of 10, that there wasn’t going to be a typical “college after high school” time – but that there was going to be a ballet career."

In 2020, she made her debut in Judd Apatow’s 2020 film The King of Staten Island with Pete Davidson. She's also starred in Between the Temples, What Doesn't Float, and an episode of American Dad. Chalamet’s most recognisable role remains Kimberly in The Sex Lives of College Girls, created by Mindy Kaling. “My brother loves it,” she told E! News. "You’ll have to get the story from him because I believe he did watch it with one of my parents. So that is that.”

Does Pauline Chalamet Have a Baby?

Yes — though, in keeping with her broader approach to fame, she has kept it largely private. She welcomed her first child with her partner Rhys Raiskin in 2024.

"I just had a baby!" she's seen in a clip telling Greta Gerwig.

What is the Relationship Between Timothée Chalamet and Pauline Chalamet?

Pauline and Timothée Chalamet share a close, creatively aligned relationship, shaped by a shared upbringing in a household that prioritised film, language, and performance.

“My sister’s like my best friend today, and I have an incredible relationship with her now, but growing up my shoes would be in places I couldn’t reach,” he said in a previous interview.

Do Pauline Chalamet and Kylie Jenner Get Along?

Publicly, there is little evidence of tension between Pauline Chalamet and Kylie Jenner, who has been linked to Timothée since 2023. The two have been seen interacting cordially at events, and there are no verified statements suggesting conflict. They were recently seen hugging at the 2026 Oscars.

Who are Timothée Chalamet’s Ex-Girlfriends?

While Pauline maintains a notably private personal life, her brother’s relationships have played out in public. Among those he has been linked to are: Lily-Rose Depp, his most high-profile former partner; Eiza González, briefly linked in 2020; and Madonna's daughter, Lourdes Leon, an early relationship before his rise to fame. His current relationship with Kylie Jenner has attracted sustained attention, further amplifying interest in the Chalamet family as a whole.
