HONG KONG
Whiskers N Paws has just opened its first dedicated grooming studio inside Elements Mall in West Kowloon, and as the owner of a golden retriever and a long-haired miniature dachshund, I couldn't resist putting it to the test.
I arrived with Bella and Pepper in tow on a recent weekday afternoon.

The Studio
Located at Shop 1049B, Water Zone, L1/F of ELEMENTS, the studio is calm, well-lit, and notably unhurried in atmosphere — a contrast to some of the more chaotic grooming environments I've encountered elsewhere in the city. The space is designed around the animal's comfort first, which you feel as soon as you walk in. There is no unnecessary noise, no sense of being rushed through.
The team at WNP are trained not just as groomers but in animal behaviour and emergency care, working alongside veterinarians to ensure they can read their clients as much as they can style them. Both Bella and Pepper settled in quickly.

What's On Offer
The studio caters to both dogs and cats, with a full menu of services covering the essentials and beyond. Grooming packages include breed-specific cuts and styling, full baths using medicated, moisturising or flea-prevention shampoos, nail trimming and filing, ear cleaning, teeth care, and paw and hygiene trims. For dogs with heavier coats, deshedding treatments are also available — Bella, who leaves a trail of golden fur across most surfaces in my flat, was very much in need of this.

Packages can be booked online, and WNP operates a straightforward cancellation policy — giving 48 hours' notice avoids a HK$100 fee, which is donated to partner pet charities. A nice touch.
For those newer to grooming, WNP also offers a Puppy Package for dogs under 11 months — a good way to introduce younger dogs to the process gently and early.

Why the Location Works So Well
The Elements opening makes WNP the first pet-related shop in the mall, and the location is genuinely one of its strongest selling points. Elements sits directly beside the West Kowloon Cultural District, one of the most pet-friendly stretches in the city. The Art Park within the district has wide grassy lawns and a dedicated off-leash Pet Zone — ideal for a pre-grooming burn of energy or a post-session stroll. The waterfront promenade itself is expansive, breezy, and lined with cafes that welcome dogs at outdoor tables. Day and night, the skyline views across the harbour make the walk genuinely worth lingering over. If you're waiting for your pup to finish grooming, you can go for a movie at the shopping mall's cinema, enjoy some excellent dining options at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, or W Hotel, or get a drink at Civic Square.

For anyone in the district — or travelling through West Kowloon Station, which sits directly beneath Elements — the convenience is hard to beat.

The Verdict
Whiskers N Paws has been operating in Hong Kong for 18 years, and the experience at Elements reflects that depth of practice. The studio is professional, thoughtfully run, and — crucially — good for the dogs. Both Bella and Pepper left noticeably more relaxed than they typically do after a grooming session elsewhere. Pepper's coat, in particular, was in excellent condition.

For West Kowloon residents and regular visitors to the area, this is a welcome addition.
