Clarence, one of Hong Kong’s most beloved modern French restaurants, has just unveiled a newly renovated bar area — a thoughtful expansion that adds more space for both regular guests and new diners.

The update allows the venue to accommodate a growing clientele while preserving the warm, intimate atmosphere that has become a hallmark of the dining experience.

“We’ve been thrilled with the overwhelming response from our guests. At the end of the day, our mission at Clarence is to make excellent French food accessible across Asia, debunking stereotypes many have about the cuisine, particularly in the region. With this new area, we wanted to ensure we could accommodate more diners without compromising the intimate experience that Clarence is known for,” said founder Olivier Elzer in a press release.

Led by Elzer and Head Chef Christophe Schmitt, Clarence is known for its refined take on French cuisine, blending classic techniques with Asian influences. Its wine programme is just as carefully considered, offering pairings that elevate each dish. The renovation reflects this same philosophy — thoughtful, elegant, and designed to enhance the guest experience.
