Review: Balayage at The Mandarin Salon, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong

HONG KONG

In pursuit of a fresh look for the New Year, I opted for a Balayage session at The Mandarin Salon, on the 24th floor of the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong. Having frequented the salon for blow-dries in the past, I decided to try their renowned colouring services and booked an appointment with Breno, a reputed Brazilian stylist known for his work with celebrities like Anitta.

Eager for a change, I embarked on a Balayage treatment that Breno informed me would take around 5 hours due to the detailed whole-head bleaching and colour application process. The use of Kevin Murphy colour base, Wella toning and bleaching, along with Olaplex treatments at various stages, safeguarded my hair during the intense colouring. Breno's technique involved a meticulous backcombing method to ensure the highlights appeared natural and seamlessly blended. A relaxing head massage during the washes was a pleasant addition to the lengthy procedure.

Before and After

Once the Balayage was completed, the application of Oribe products provided protection from heat damage during the blow-dry, resulting in a vibrant yet natural-looking Balayage. For those seeking a thorough yet transformative treatment, Breno at The Mandarin Salon is highly recommended. The Balayage technique, known for its natural results, was executed with finesse, breathing new life into my hair.
