HONG KONG

As the city’s skyline flickers to life on October 31st, Hong Kong’s nocturnal elite will be slipping into their most mysterious attire and heading — where else? — to Zuma, where Halloween takes a cinematic turn. The contemporary Japanese izakaya, long known for its sleek design and legendary parties, will transform for one night only into the Past Curfew Cinema: a glittering, immersive fever dream of film, fantasy, and late-night decadence.

Dinner Before the Darkness

For those who prefer to start their night with a touch of luxury before the madness unfolds, Zuma’s Yashoku Night Brunch – Halloween Edition (from 8pm to 10pm) delivers an experience worthy of its cult following. This is no ordinary brunch — it’s a lavish prelude of free-flow Perrier-Jouët “Grand Brut” champagne, sake, and cocktails, paired with a hauntingly delicious menu.

Expect plates that play with contrast and temptation: Seared Beef Tataki with Truffle Ponzu, Pork Gyoza with Spicy Yuzu Truffle, and Miso Marinated Black Cod wrapped in Hoba Leaf. Sushi and sashimi platters arrive like edible art, glowing against the candlelight, setting the tone for an evening of indulgence.

At HKD 1,688 +10% per person, the package also grants full access to the cinematic afterparty — a golden ticket for those who believe dinner should always lead to dancing.

The Curtain Rises

When the clock strikes ten, the transformation is complete. The Past Curfew Cinema comes alive in full force, drawing in Hong Kong’s night owls for a high-octane celebration that blurs the line between movie magic and nightclub fantasy.

Guests can sip on two signature Zuma cocktails while champagne, beer, and soft drinks flow freely until 1am. DJs take to the decks, percussionists add a live pulse to the mix, and costumed dancers slink through the crowd like silver screen phantoms.

There’s even a popcorn corner, because no great film — or great party — should be without one. It’s a playful wink to the night’s cinematic theme, best enjoyed between beats on the dance floor. For those seeking something even more exclusive, bottle service begins at 10:30pm, adding a little sparkle to the shadows.

General admission is HKD 880, with limited early bird tickets at HKD 780. And for those who dine early on the fifth floor, an exclusive HKD 550 party ticket awaits (with an HKD 800 minimum spend).
